Little Dre grew up and is the big dog now. But when Reina and Sophie insist he still lets them be the boss dogs. He is the bottomless pit to have around and is helping Sophie with her treat addiction by scarfing up all of the ones she tries to hide. The following video is a re-run that shows Dre back when he was a small grasshopper and Reina was teaching him the exquisite art of dogfu. Thank you for coming to see my pictures. (:

This is a collection of some of the photo subjects I have been working on. I couldn't provide images from everything I have been doing in one article so call this a teaser. The dolphins and stuff that I have really been working on will be a ways into the future. I put the video together relatively fast so it doesn't have a lot of polish but it is an entertaining subject. Like "cops" on the water. I hope you enjoy the video and images and come back next week to see more. I will be doing this feature once a week and will try to keep at least one article ahead so that I don't drop the ball due to time constraints.

I will be publishing on Friday (even though I can publish anytime) in order to support my friends and their Friday Image Articles. A regular weekly feature needs a deadline so that readers will know when it will be available so it just makes sense. So I am back in the Friday Foto Feature with my own style of article. I am working on another feature with some friends that could really help bring attention to the photographers on Newsvine. Hopefully we will be able to get that together soon. I hope you enjoy the images....

Little Dre (the challenger) has been working on his stamina lately, he always had heart and attitude but the need to nap constantly left him in the position of no contest. No matter what happened he was always knocked out at the end of every match. While that may still be the case he is twice as big and lasts twice as long as he did just a few short weeks ago. He has always been able to cause trouble but can he back up the bluster? Check out the video to find out.

This article is an image and video article for Newsvine.

My daughter has a new puppy. His name is Dre and he is 6 weeks old. Having a puppy around has Sophie and Reina making a few adjustments. Things got kind of busy and I knew I didn't have time for much more than a small feature this Friday so I figured why not a small feature of a small dog. Here are a few images of the Dre for Foto-Friday.

Foto-friday is a feature of the NV photographers.

    Oops here is one more...

I was relaxing and checking out a few articles when my little fan club ran me over, took over the computer and next thing I know we are watching everybody's favorite cat videos again. The mangy camel went over pretty well too but nothing fascinates a doggy like a meowing cat. So I took a few pictures and decided that this wouldn't be a bad moment to reprise some old gratuitous dog picture articles.

    Reina and Sophie's other articles....

We have new images that are strong evidence that Osama is alive and well in the, "Afghan Hills." The rumors of his demise all a mistake related to the death of his look-a-like in a Pakistan suburb. Check these images closely America because they clearly show that one of the worst criminal master minds the US has faced (excepting the Goldman Sachs crowd) remains at large and is very angry. As the world braces for possible Al qaeda retalitation, conspiracy watch dogs are keeping an eye on the real danger we face.

As a person who works far away there is always something special about going home. Reina and Sophie were at the door to welcome me home after being gone most of the winter. So I took a few dog pictures of what goes on around the house.

This is a foto-friday article and is a feature of the newsvine photographers. Sophie and Reina were brought to you by themselves. Reina is a shelter rescue dog and was adopted at a Petsmart adoption event. When you give a home to an un-wanted animal you share a piece of your heart, and the world becomes just a tiny bit kinder.

  • Story Photo

    在雷纳的心,她不只是一个栖身救援犬。她是后裔直接从李师傅的狗。她是雷纳“卧虎藏龙吉娃娃”李一对狗富精美的艺术大师。

In Reina's mind she is not just another shelter-rescue dog. She is descended directly from the dog of Master Lee. She is Reina "Crouching Pinscher" Lee, a master of the exquisite art of Dog-Fu.

This was a photo article for the Newsvine photographers and mighty dog-fu pictures. I would like to honor the memory of Bruce Lee, he will always be the best. I would like to thank Reina and Sophie for hamming it up for the camera, they are star dogs.

This article was for entertainment purposes only. All captioning in any language was for the purpose of entertainment and amusement. All story lines are fictitious in nature and any resemblance to persons or events is entirely co-incidental.

  • Story Photo

These dog portraits were brought to you by the Newsvine Photographers and the Foto-Friday feature. The dog toys were brought to you by Petsmart as well as Reina who was adopted at a Petsmart pet adoption for the ASPCA shelter in Bakersfield, California. Reina urges people to support their local animal shelter, times are tough for animals that need homes too.

    Pledge to support Animal Shelters.

  • Story Photo

This is not just another gratuitous dog picture article...........well ok maybe it is, but it's a cute dog. If Reina actually got up on a soapbox, I think she would tell us about her intense dislike of cats and the joy of chomping down on a good squeeky toy or bone. I have to apologize for Reina's outright bigotry toward the feline race she has her opinions and since it is her on the box what can I do? Our other dog Sophie isn't fond of cats either, but chooses to run from them rather than take any chances.

This photo-moontage was made from three seperate pictures. Reina was liberated from the picture she was in using the background eraser in photo-shop. Erasing the background and then selecting the subject afterward is a slower but more sure method of selecting a subject that has fur and whiskers and stuff. I think I would have done even better if I had messed with the contrast to get the shadows out of the picture. The ocean scene is from my life at sea, the picture was cropped to get a more downward angle in the view. The box was just floating around on line and was altered a lot from it's original picture. I rendered the colors with some of the hue and temperature settings in photo-shop. The original was black and white.

I have a book on the subject that I use as a guide as I am still kind of new to the genre'. I could have rendered shadows and fixed lighting to make it blend more but I like the way everything stands out. You need that in an avatar because they are so small.

When we moved house to Seattle from the desert we knew that some members of the family would require a little time to get used to the new weather pattern. Right now I am not sure if some members of the family are going to get used to it at all. Poor Reina is a little bit low on fur coat and likes a hot climate, she is not enjoying the cool Seattle weather at all. When we sit outside on the porch she comes out with us for a little while.

It is so funny because she will come sit on your lap with her back to you, and when she is thinking about stuff her big ears have a tendency to flick back and forth. Then she starts to really shiver but still she wants to be with everyone else so she stays, ears flipping around on her head like she is waiting for the signal that it's time to go in. Then when she is too cold she goes in by herself and gets under the blanket for a while. When she is warmed up enough she will come and sit in the back doorway and look at us like we are crazy because we are sitting in the freezing cold (for a little dog).

The blanket was just some fun we were having, but seriously I think we need to get this dog a jacket or something. Sophie is not overly bothered by the cold (probably because she is half hotdog).

I am of course not in Seattle right now I am on the boat but I get the on-going story from home and I thought I would write this story and share some of the pictures I took before I left.

You are not going to believe this because, after working all day and being all jet lagged and too tired (like my friend) I decided to check the leaderboard, I knew I was going to fall into obscurity because my vacation is over and I have to work. Not having enough time to write more than an article here or there I figured within a week I would hardly be remembered. Except of course by my very good friends who I can't wait to tell. The number crunching machinery must have fetched up for a second there and a hole tore in the fabric of cyber reality and I got put up on the board in the number 25 spot. I am at the bottom of the top, previously the best I could hope for was to make the top of the bottom and then maybe.

Now I know some of you are saying, "Dude big deal already,". Well it is a big deal to me so, shut up!! As much as this is my moment it was made possible by all of the wonderfull folks that saw fit to stop by and leave a comment, even the ones who told me I'm funky for some of the things I write. Thank you all so much for your posts and comments, I feel very lucky to have had you guys read my articles and take the time to comment. I also want to thank my dog Reina, she is the most patient dog in the world and her article, Conspiracy Vine Get Out Your Tin Foil Hats would never have happened if she didn't have the patience to not only wear the tinfoil hat but wait for me to actually take the pictures. She is the best dog and if she wasn't 3000 miles away I would hug her right now.

Special thanks go to the Newsvine Photographers if it weren't for photo-fridays and the response to my picture articles none of this would be possible either. Foto-Fridays is a feature of Newsvine Photographers whereby picture articles published by members on friday and tagged with the foto-friday logo are mutually appreciated and commented on by the members who are participating. It is a great way to meet people and get your articles noticed by a wide variety of viners.

Special shout outs to Dunkin Donuts for not letting people use the restroom, the credit reporting agencies for abusing all US citizens, The Alaskan Fisherman who caught the big fish, The Ground Zero Casino and Rising Towers Gentlemen's Club (strip bar), and The Republican Footballers for over dramatizing. All of those links are to the articles that made this happen, they are an unlikely collection of humor and photography articles that are completely unlike the ones that usually put folks on the board. I am going to end this with a few hugs and shout outs to my friends and inspirations. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((All my friends)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) for supporting me and sharing the laughs. ((((((((((((((((((((((((((everybody who posted))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I should have invited you to be friends. Thank you all, JJ

Reina and I were on the vine today checking out the serious conspiracy articles. There is a lot to learn about secret commisions and panels. Groups of people plotting and scheming in plain sight. Thank goodness some of our more liberal friends warned us about the cosmic rays, UFO's, and told us we would need our tin foil hats. We have got our hats on, the shades are drawn, and all of the doors are locked. Luckily nobody followed us home from Petsmart so I think we are OK. It's time to get to the bottom of what is really going on.

  • Story Photo

Previously after our hike up the waterfall poor Reina was limping and beat down. When we went to Petsmart (she has dog medical insurance there, hopefully nobody reforms it) we bought her a squeeky dog toy as a get well present. It was a squeeky carrot for an injured doggy. Well before she got better Sophie was playing with the carrot and began to believe it was hers. This created an imbalance in the land of the short ones and soon enough a confrontation was brewing over who was the rightfull owner of the carrot. So tonight in the 14 pound Chihuahua style dog division we have our two opponents.

In the bad dog corner wearing the brown fur, half chihuahua, and half dachshund is Sophie employing her weeny style.

In the "illegal alien dog" corner wearing the black fur with doby trim, half ankle pincher, and half chihuahua is Reina employing her angry pinscher style.

    Let's get ready to rrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmbbbbbbblllllllllleeeee!!!

Disclaimer: This is Dog wrestling and as such causes no injury to the doggies whatsoever, they just get tired, thirsty, and probably eat more. As it was all their idea, I can take no responsibility for anything but safety which because I was hanging around was assured.

This is part 2 of my Foto-Friday pictures. Foto-Friday is a feature of Newsvine photographers. As I stated in the PREVIOUS ARTICLE my picture count was a little high this week and it crashed the article and I lost all the pictures. I worked so hard on it and I was terrible bummed out having to do it all twice but that is the way it goes and it was probably for the best. I think a lot of people would have given up trying to load the darn thing on their computer because of the size of it. So here is the end of our trip to Seattle.

  • Story Photo

These Pictures are a continuation of the subject of last week we are now in Seattle and I am so happy to be here. We stopped in Northern Oregon in a town called Troutdale it is on the Columbia River near the Gorge. The Columbia River Gorge is a place where the river litterally appears to cut through a mountain range. The geography of the place makes for lots of little water falls and there is lots of little hiking trails. The pictures from our hiking were at Multnomah Falls, and the dogs walked there short legs all the way up there to get the pictures for this friday.

After leaving California seeing the people of Northern Oregon was a bit of a shock, my first impression was that food must be really cheap there. That said when we were hiking there was all kinds of people walking around the forest that were both very husky and in excellent shape. Kind of like really big exercise bunnies. I am quite sure that the local chicken joints were probably trampled at the end of the day but it kind of ruined the whole fat and lazy theory. Even the dogs were a little nervous sharing the trail with some of the fluffy people. I was gonna get pictures but I was holding out for spandex and missed an opportunity to tell the story with a picture.

I hope you like the pics. poor Reina the dog was limping at the end of the day and when we got back to the hotel she crawled into bed got under the covers and didn't move for ten hours. So I guess there was at least some animal cruelty in the making of the photographs, I have of course apologized to Reina and we got her a new squeeky dog toy (she loves to make that noise) as a sort of get better present. By the time we moved into the house in Seattle she was ripping around the yard at top dog speed like nothing ever happened.

Note: Reina is a very high speed dog but has no brakes. Her normal when coming to you is to run up and crash into you and sit down at the same time. It is very dis-concerting at first. For those of you that don't know her she is the darker colored, half ankle pincher, half chihuahua dog in the pictures. She originally broke onto the Newsvine scene as The Illegal Alien Dog.

When I went to publish this the picture count was really high and I am pretty sure that is the reason that I lost all of the pictures and captions rather than do that again another part of this article has been published with the rest of the pictures. Maybe it is for the best. CLICK HERE TO GO TO SEE THE REST OF THE PICTURES!!!
