The weather was a little blustery last night. I decided the first really snotty weather of the season deserved a few pictures. When I think of a camera to bring with me in a situation where I might be up to my neck in white water my little point and shoot always comes to mind. It isn't the fanciest camera but it stores easily in raingear and is not going to cause financial difficulty if it is lost at sea. Even though they don't have a lot of control over the settings you can still get some very cool effects with a simple camera.

I love the 9 fingered, "Hi Mom," wave that my fellow crewmember did in this picture. The sea water pouring over the rail and the wall of water behind are everything a mom wants to see in a picture of junior's work.

It rained a little...

The wind blew a little too.....

Because of the lack of light my camera used a long exposure time making the silky water effects and unfortunately (due to the amount of motion that was going on) some blur in all of the subjects.

The Osprey rolls past 25 degrees offering a straight on view of the Venture's stern and the ocean.

A crewmember gets ready to pass back the end of the net. The camera needs to be cleaned at this point.
